London

It is possible to busk on any public land in London outwith the burroughs of Camden and Uxbridge, each of which have special by-laws. Much land in London is private, and there is no definitive map of who owns what. The land for Kings Cross station, for instance, is owned by both Network Rail and The Borough of Camden, with no map of the boundaries. Busk London, an iniative from the Mayor of London launched in 2015, has sought to cut the red tape, to let street performance occur. Major landmarks, Kings Cross Station & Trafalgar Square are now opened to buskers. The southbank is a riverside promenade which also hosts busking. Covent Garden is the traditional marketplace for street performers, though operates its own licensing due to historically high demand.

Paris

Montmarte is the traditional winding town tourist district, and street writers have also been spotted.

Famous English language bookshop Shakespeare & Company has had street writers spotted working on the pavement opposite it.

Canal St Martin at night is lined with thousands of drinking youngsters.

Ghent, Belgium

Along the canal beside the castle where there is a big stone sitting area opposite many terraces can be a great place to sit.

Berlin

Musicians perform at warschauer strasse metro station, and street writers have been found working on the bridge from the station over the railways.

Görlitzer park, aka purgatory, is another spot where kids hang and busking can be done.

Tourist sight-seeing mainstays like Checkpoint Charlie, The Reichstag and Eastside gallery can work.

Mauerpark hosts big open mic busking events on sundays.

Granada

There is a good travelling community in the beautiful town of Granada. You can write in the courtyard beside the church at the top of the hill facing the Alhambra, though street sellers keep their wares in blankets as the police hand out fines. Keep eyes. English speaking tourists taking photos of the palace at all hours, who are looking for a romantic souvenir of the beautiful city.
